Wagin summer scroungers

18 Jan, 2012 09:35 AM
CHRISTMAS and New Year has gone, the holidays are drawing to a close and bowls members must be running out of excuses as to why they are not supporting the local club.

I have been pressured into putting the notes in the local paper but when there are only a few members turning up to play it makes that job harder.

On the January 12 there were six members it was decided to play turkey triples instead of scroungers.

Bernie Welland, Ross Hunt and Merv Baker took on Mary Riseborough, Denny Dunham and Ben Pearce.

Due to Mary's good bowling her team lead from the start to finish and Welland’s team was lucky that they only lost by one point.

The final score was Riseborough 23 points and Welland 22 points.
