PLAYERS were few and far between but 12 players turned up to play scroungers on a hot day and suffer the consequences recently.
Rink two had Ben Pearce, Phil Harris and Dot Treford having a good mixed game.
Harris took the lead from the start and had a good break at the 11th end.
Treford held on to second division while Pearce was having a really bad day and failed to gain any ground on the leader.
The final score was Harris 60 points, Treford 40 points and Pearce made it home with a score of 32 points.
Rink three was Ken Preston, Bernie Welland and Ross Hunt having a good battle.
At the 11th end it was a one bowl difference in Preston 's favour.
Welland was out of touch and watched Hunt and Preston play very good bowls.
Hunt was always one point behind until Preston failed to score on the 18th end.
The last four rounds were won by Hunt.
The final score was Hunt 55 points, Preston 51 points and Welland 26 points.
Rink four had Ken Meers, Halina Weinert and Merv Baker doing battle.
All players started well but it was Meers who led well with a lead of 13 points at the 11th end.
Weinert and Baker bowled well but were unable to close the gap.
The final score was Meers 56 points, Baker 43 points and Weinert 33 points.
Rink five had Davida Mitchell, David Hill and Sandra Hill having a good game with Mitchell Showing the Hills it was not all up Hill to the top.
At the 11th end Mitchell had a lead of 19 points which was going to be hard to beat.
Considering the Hills are new bowlers they both did well.
The final score was Mitchell 57 points, David 39 points and Sandra 36 points.
The four-end final was between Phil Harris, Davida Mitchell, Ken Meers and Ross Hunt.
The winner was Meers and second place was Hunt with eight points.
Coming up on January 31 are the ladies’ pennants.
February 4 is the first and second division pennants.
January 28 and 29 is the inter-league round robin.
