THE Narrogin Equestrian Association is busy gearing up for its first fixture of the year and it will be a day with a difference.
It is a dressage training day but it will be run in conjunction with a Prix Caprilli Challenge competition.
This will provide the opportunity for riders and horses to demonstrate elementary skills in two disciplines at the same time – dressage and jumping.
The jumping and dressage take place simultaneously in the same arena, providing a challenge for the participants and exciting viewing for spectators.
The training day will be held on Saturday, February 27 at the Narrogin Leisure Centre sports ground with an early morning start and continuing through the day.
The Prix Caprilli, sponsored by local business Simron Transport, is expected to be hotly contested and the dressage training provides a great way for pony club members to gain the competencies they need for the inter-schools competition held later in the year.
Spectators are welcome throughout the day with free admission and association members will be on hand to provide information about the day’s activities and also about association membership.
There has already been strong interest in the day with entries from as far away as Albany, Lake Grace and Kukerin and more entries are expected before the closing date of February 23.
Entry forms are available through the association’s website at www.neainc.net
