Close battles on the Great Southern track

04 Aug, 2010 02:26 PM
ON SATURDAY the Great Southern Kart Club held a club event, with a total of 32 nominations.

Those who attended enjoyed the night, with five races each plus the socialising at the completion of racing.

The KT class was the biggest for the meeting, with some close battles throughout all the races.

Sally McDougall won the night, followed by Trent Alers and Luke Nardini.

In the twin class, Adrian Haywood took the honours ahead of Gary Bielby and Brent Thompson.

The junior light class was won by Tim Ryan ahead of his sister Tayla and Kaiden Manders.

It would be good to see bigger fields in the juniors, as they are the future of the sport.

There were four drivers contesting the J open class, with Jamie Shuttleworth coming out on top ahead of Joel Knighton and Jordan McCormack.

The club’s next meeting will be on September 4 from 2pm

and anyone who is interested in having a go is encouraged to come up and have a drive in the unlicensed class.
