C Grade take on smaller opponents

02 Jul, 2009 02:37 PM
KUKERIN hockey teams played in Hyden this week on a cold and wintery day.

The C Grade team looked big this week against the young Hyden/Karlgarin side.

Kukerin had a great deal of play for the game and again passed the ball around in a skilled and unselfish manner.

Cody Ditchburn scored three goals and Brittany Doney one.

It was a great team effort for the 4-0 win. B Grade was also a great match to watch with plentiful passing and fantastic teamwork.

Kukerin were moving and communicating well as a complete team.

Amanda John scored a handy three goals, Megan Chadwick two and Lauren Taylor one for the 6-0 win.

A grade, the last to brave the elements, started well. The ball moved well between players despite the oval being slightly uneven.

Forwards were moving well with the defence players continually feeding and stopping any attack that Karlgarin/Hyden could muster.

Sue Joyce and Michelle Roberts bagged three goals each with Marnie West and Narelle Leo each scoring one.

An 8-0 win to Kukerin will be very handy come the finals games of the season.

Allison Mckenzie and Michelle Roberts won the Players Player award for their sterling effort on ground.
