ON WEDNESDAY, December 14 the junior basketball club held its grand final night for the short but successful season at the Wagin Recreation Centre.
The junior boys kicked off the night with Jets playing Waves in the grand final with Jets winning 27 to 12.
In the third and fourth game Hawks had a little more fire in the end winning 27 to 12 against Flames.
Next to fight it for the glory was the girls and once again Waves and Jets played off in the grand final with Waves playing a strong team to end up winners 28 to 10.
In the third and fourth game, Hawks just got over the line in a tight game 14 to 10 against Flames.
The senior boys played out the final games of the night with Flames doing battle with Jets in the grand final.
In a tight game all over, the Jets held strong to win 19 to 16.
In the third and fourth game a free flowing game, with great team play, Hawks came out the winners over Waves 29 to 22.
Individual awards presented on the night included junior boys – highest scorer Brodie Wallam, MVP Christian Ward and runner-up MVP Kyle Hamersley, girls – highest scorer Shanae Davies, MVP Jainna Buck and runner-up MVP Shanae Davies and senior boys – highest scorer Tyrone Cole, MVP Lane Taylor and runner-up MVP Tyrone Cole.
The club congratulated all the players that had a go over the season and thanked the volunteers that umpired, scored, coached and helped out with running of junior basketball.
