Telecentre to celebrate 10 years

11 Feb, 2010 02:49 PM
THE Wagin Telecentre will celebrate its 10th birthday with a morning of activities including a morning tea and fashion parade on February 20 from 9-11am.

The Telecentre was officially opened on February 28, 2000 and was the 76th Telecentre in the network which now numbers more than 100.

It was brought about by an interested group of people with the aim of providing many varied educational, government and secretarial services to the Wagin community in one convenient location.

It remains to this day, a community, not for profit, member based organisation that is managed by a group of dedicated volunteers.

There will be two rounds of fashion parades showcasing the range and quality of garments available from Wagin Care and Share.

All the clothing is being modelled by locals and may provide some with a few laughs and surprises along the way.

Everyone has been invited to go along and enjoy a fun morning, with morning tea and birthday cake and lucky door prizes.

The Telecentre will be open for people to pop in and have a look at the facilities and services.

Staff will be on hand to answer any questions.

Anyone interested in attending should call 9861 1644 or pop into the Telecentre by February 18 to reserve a spot.

Entry will be by donation.
