Mounted police were on the beat

11 Mar, 2010 02:44 PM
WAGIN Police officer in charge Sergeant Paul Lydiate and his team thanked everyone for an almost trouble-free Woolorama weekend.

“We had representatives of the mounted police section in attendance for the Saturday night of Woolorama and

I am pleased to say that we had very little trouble,” he said.

“There was a strong line of communication between Wagin Police and the Wagin Agricultural Society and

their security team and this helped to have everything under control.

“This was an extremely successful Woolorama from our point of view, with no arrests associated with Woolorama over the weekend.

“This is your town and we are here to help you protect it and when damage is done to it, you are only hurting yourselves and your town, I am pleased to say that aside from a small amount of littering this event caused us no trouble,” Sgt Lydiate said.

“I would also like to make special mention of Don Davies who agisted the mounted police horses during their stay in Wagin, stabling and feeding them – thank you.”
