WITH the recent wet weather putting a dampener on harvest, the Argus has decided to run a “Big Bog-Off”.
At a time when farmer’s spirits need to be raised, the light-hearted competition calls for photos of bogged vehicles and machinery taken throughout harvest.
The aim of the competition is to remind farmers that they are not alone in their harvest struggles and to stop for a minute and have a good laugh at some unfortunate mishaps around the district.
Elders Wagin have come on board to sponsor the competition and will provide a prize valued at $500 which will consist of general farming and promotional gear.
Photos need to be emailed to waginargus@ruralpress.com by Friday, February 10.
Photos taken on mobile phones can sometimes be too small so cameras are the preferred method.
All entries received will be displayed at the Elders post-harvest client drinks evening on Thursday, February 16.
The winning entry will be drawn out of a hat and announced that evening.
Photos will also be published in the Argus leading up to the close of competition.
So keep your cameras handy throughout the rest of harvest and go get bogged!
