Ambulance returns home

18 Aug, 2010 11:25 AM
AFTER nearly two years of being removed from their sub-centre, Wagin St John Ambulances and its members are back in their building and celebrated with a barbecue on August 6.

Due to a contamination issue, they were moved out of the building and thanks to the Wagin Shire Council, Wagin Hospital and the Department of Agriculture, were able to continue uninterrupted service during this time.

All members are glad to be back in their home and are able to function much better.

The office is open on Thursday afternoons for first aid kit purchases, memberships, first aid courses and volunteer enquiries.

New volunteers are always needed, especially ambulance officers, as it does take time to train and get practise so they need to have new people on the go.

People who that think they couldn’t do it are asked to re-consider and come along and talk to current officers.

It’s not as bad as some people may think and it is so gratifying to be able to help the community.

Call Gail Murdock on 0428 622 033 or Anne Hill on 0458 995 274 for more information.

Interested community people are also needed to be on the St John Ambulance committee and the annual general meeting will be held on Thursday, August 26.
