Aircraft to take to the skies this Saturday

18 Mar, 2010 02:57 PM
THE skies over Wagin will be buzzing with planes this Saturday to celebrate the opening of the new Royal Flying Doctor transfer station.

The new facility will be officially opened at 12.30pm but the action will start sooner with displays by a dozen or so aircraft as well as rides for the public in a Royal Aero Club Tiger Moth.

Other aircraft will include an Eagle Quad Wing as well as a CT4 (an army trainer plane) and a range of Cessnas including the latest glass cockpit model.

Ambulance personnel and equipment will be on display as well as representation from the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

The display is open to the public from 10.30am.

A lunch for invited guests and all volunteers involved in the building of the new facility as well as ambulance volunteers will be served following the official opening.

Bookings for Tiger Moth rides can be made through Mike Taylor on 0429 622 021.
